Hampton Court 2012!

We are very excited to announce that we are exhibiting our fourth RHS show garden, ‘The Swiss Alpine Garden’, at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show from July 3rd- 8th 2012, sponsored by Switzerland Tourism.

We have created a design to represent a high alpine landscape and will seek to mirror the characteristic rocky outcrops, alpine meadows and abundance of water that Switzerland has to offer. Swiss mountain streams and rocky peaks will provide the inspiration for the garden together with the clear, clean beauty of the native landscape. Alpine meadows and alpine planting will be featured as well as a traditional Swiss chalet which will be located to the side of the garden. The planting will be designed to capture the beauty of the Swiss landscape and also to encompass the secondary theme of well-being through the incorporation of some plants which may occur in herbal/natural remedies. The planning process is challenging to recreate the stunning landscape of the Swiss Alps but we hope that we will create another stunning garden.

Please visit us at the show, we will look forward to seeing you there!

Make New Design Plans

Now is the perfect time of the year to start considering any changes to your garden. Think about any areas you would like to rejuvenate. Maybe your planting needs some attention or you would like to develop a new area in which to sit and relax. Make your plans now so that you can carry out any planting before summer arrives.

Spring designs

With some large design projects under way at the moment, we are excited to see them being carried over from the planning stage to full design on the ground. We have been planning some exciting sculpture for one of our clients and some contemporary water features for the other. Meetings this week have taken us to London – so many fantastic gardens to be seen and, as in my garden at home, Spring seems to have come early there too!

Autumn is here!

I love all the seasons of the year, but misty autumn mornings and the rich reds and golds of autumn foliage are magical. Planting your garden for autumn colour is simple easy and brings a new dimension to your borders. Try plant combinations like Aster ‘Little carlow’ and Paeonia ‘Sarah Bernhardt’. Paeonias are often overlooked when it comes to plants which give autumn interest, however the foliage of most varieties turn wonderful glowing shades of red and gold which light up in the late afternoon sunshine.
